The new new media

Obama and the others will have to deal with it.

  1. I think its really interesting how campaigns are scared to deal with more interaction from viewers (supporters/detractors)using third party platforms. Its almost as if they are saying in their websites "here, become involved in the campaign...but you can only play by our rules". I guess its just instictive political survival tactics. No one wants to surrender their official platform to a situation where random people have opportunities to undercut the official party/candidate line

  2. As we learned in class, the Democrats seem to be dealing with the new media fairly well. So I'm really not worried about them this election cycle. However, the Republicans are another story all together! With media outlets changing by the second, I wonder if they will ever get the hang of it or if they will always be a step behind...

  3. I don't know if I agree. Tim Pawlenty seems to have a tight grip on his media outlet and sources. Becoming a member of PawlentyAction and receiving points based on your activity seems like a great initiative to get constituents involved.

  4. I agree with Sarit, Tim Pawlenty's 'A' Game is BRUNG!The Youtube video that was sent less than 24 hours after Obama's was definitely an indicator that Obama isn't the only media savvy game in town.
