  1. This is not the first time NBC has avoided controversy surrounding its parent company. There was much controversy surrounding CEO Jeffrey Immelt and GE when it turend out they were doing bussiness with Iran, Jeffery Immelts comments on Obama's comencement speech at Notre Dame and of course The plummeting stock of GE since Immelt took over and the immense compensation he recieved anyways. This news was either ignored completely by NBC or just barely covered for about 15 seconds.

  2. Wow- i think this definitely speaks to the bias that NBC has.
To further support this argument that NBC purposely did not cover GE's tax issue- is the fact that CEO Jeffrey Immelt is 'buddy-buddy' with Obama which pulls in Obama into this issue that maybe GE really does have something to hide and that is another reason that NBC did not report this. brought up in this article- http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/35003

  3. This kind of thing would surprise me, if it hadn't already been parodied so brilliantly on NBC's Tina Fey-written sitcom, 30 Rock.

  4. I think that every news network has a media bias problem, this is what the new media is going to be like. Being a discerning consumer of media (news media specifically) is now more important than ever.

  5. This is an issue across the board. To illustrate this reality, even a liberal group such as FAIR, Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting, criticized NBC for its biases. Clearly this is something that each media source can be accused of, and it's important for the reader or viewer to recognize this.
